Not to seem hostile, but to all of the posts that involved "new and more exciting way of reading!", what happened to your imagination? A book paints a picture, but it is YOUR picture. With this sort of text based media, the artist/author/whatever you want to call it, is creating everything for you.
If I wanted a picture, I would have painted. If I wanted to see things, I would have wrote.

Although you make a good point, some people may not have the capability of being able to imagine for themselves what the text may be saying in their own opinion. Some people may read a text and have no clue at all what it meant. So if one cannot understand what is being said in the first place, how can one interpret in their own way if they are lost all the way from beginning? I believe that sometimes “painting” a picture for the audience is a helpful hand on allowing the audience to understand the literature on a better level. And as for those who believe this may be limiting their imagination of what they would like the text to means perhaps such as yourself, you still have the option to think creatively what you want. No one is making you see that one painting if you don’t want to. I personally think it just helps those who need a better understanding of it.
