While Ms. O'Malley first told us what our next paper was going to be on the first unique community that came to my mind was Amish. I don't really know much about them except for what I've seen in movies, but I have always wondered do people really live like that. How could people really live like that. The questions about Amish are endless for me. I just don't understand why they would want to live completely away for the world. It's it a lot faster to drive a car then to go on a horse drawn carriage. I don't understand why a new bride would just be okay with not getting a wedding ring just because they are not allowed to wear jewelry. I am not sure if I will be allowed to do my research on the Amish though because I know we are not allowed to do religion and I know that the whole Amish culture is based on their religion. I do think that this religion is very unique from other religions.
If I am not allowed to use this community then while researching a found another unique place that got my attention. IT is called Bicycle City. This is more of a future plan where people are coming together to form a community with no cars and only bicycles. There plan is to come together to form a community that is saving the society. Now they are taking reservations for people who would want to live in the city.

I think it is amazing but also very unusual that they live without all the commodities we live with now. What I consider to be a necessity, they do not have. Certain things I think to myself, why would I want to live without a T.V.? Or what would I do without my cell phone? I think it would be really interesting topic to research. You can look into their reasoning as to why they choose live this way and if the kids are forced into it or you can look into what their consequences are for leaving the community of Amish people.
