So far in writing this paper, I found that the hardest thing was trying to understand the topic. My first draft for this paper was the epitome of a “shitty first draft”. I misunderstood the prompt and the lady that I met with at the reading and writing center tore it up. I was taking a wrong approach to it but I got help from her and got my paper on the right tract. After she pointed me in the right direction, the problem that I had concerning how to make my paper long enough, disappeared. I had more to say and my paper wasn’t so broad anymore. That was the first bump that I ran into. Now I am stuck again! I have five pages written and I don’t really know what else to add to make my paper the required eight pages. I’m starting to get a little stressed that my paper is going to have a lot of repetition and be boring. That is one of my biggest fears that my paper is going to be boring and my reader is just going to give up on me. Another thing that I found difficult about this paper was the research. I would much rather prefer to write a fictional piece or a crot paper than having to spend time in the library doing research and finding some creative way to incorporate it into my paper. I know that this is school and a lot of time goes into work, but I would prefer to spend my time writing fiction or even work on math homework than sitting on the library website searching for sources. I cannot stand that process!
One question that I have still is how to make my paper more interesting. Right now it just seems like I’m relaying facts and there is nothing that exciting in what I have to say. Any advice?
