Memorable Song

My first semester at Florida State a song came out and was an instant hit. Chicken Fried, by the Zac Brown Band. My roommate and I first heard this song while driving in his truck. We thought it was a good song, however did not pay as much attention to it as we should have. We heard it probably 2 or so more times before discovering how amazing this song really was.

This song seemed to come on whenever we were doing anything that was the least bit memorable. And when it did come on we would always make a big deal out of it. We would say something like “good times in Salley” which is the phrase we adopted referring to the dorm we live in Salley Hall. However, the saying soon became not only for stuff we did inside our dorm, but anything we did while in Tallahassee our first semester.

We both learned to love the song, and forced others too as well. They learned to love it too. Now almost all of our friends here at FSU enjoy the song as much as we do. We soon got the song on CD and play it whenever we leave the dorm for anything. The song is kind of a reminder of my first semester, the different memories I have from it, the activities we did when my roommate and I were together, which was almost 90 percent of the time. I think its safe to say whenever I hear this song for the rest of my life I will think of my first semester at FSU and I know a lot of my friends will and my roommate will for sure.
